Getting there…
The Sart Tilman campus is located outside the city center. You will first need to reach Liège, where most of the accommodations are located, then move to the campus.
By plane
Belgium has 5 main international airports: Brussels, Antwerp, Charleroi, Ostende-Bruges and Liège. The closest options are listed below.
-
Brussels airport - Zaventem is served by international flights all year long. From the airport to Liège Guillemins station (Luik in Dutch) the easiest solution is the train, which leaves from level -2 of the airport and reaches Liège in approximately 52 minutes. Note that all the travelers leaving or arriving at Brussels airport have to buy a so-called “Diabolo ticket”. It is normally included in the ticket if you buy at the train station.
-
Charleroi - Brussels South (Charleroi) is served by international flights and low-cost companies. There is no train station so one needs to:
- take the
A1bus and stop at Charleroi Sud train station (20 minutes approx.) then - the train to Liège (1h18).
- take the
⚠️ Bierset - Liège airport (Bierset) is almost only used for freight/cargo operations, so it’s not a realistic option for passenger travel.
By train
Liège-Guillemins station has frequent connexions with Brussels, from where you can reach at high speed Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Lille, Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, Nice, Marseille and Frankfurt.
There are also direct high-speed connection from Liège to Paris, Brussels, Köln and Frankfurt.
